Windows 7 launch ‘party’

September 23rd, 2009

I actually don’t quite know what to make of this new video from Microsoft. It’s not funny enough to be tongue-in-cheek but it’s too funny/corny to be real… isn’t it?

Rhapsody App for iPhone

September 9th, 2009

Check out this video of the new Rhapsody iPhone App (pending approval). Looks cool, but for $15 a month I think I’d still opt for the Spotify option (which is also pending approval) as it doesn’t suggest anywhere in the video below that you can download playlists for listening to off-line.

I guess we’ll have to see if Apple give us the option of either…

WordPress keep it real(-time)

September 8th, 2009

WordPress have now made it possible for instant syndication of all blog posts. RSSCloud now means that blog content can be as up to date as services such as Twitter. Their .com users are already using the benefits of this feature and there’s a plugin available for all self-hosted blogs which means an upgrade isn’t even necessary.

Build your own iPhone App with Sweb Apps

August 19th, 2009

Sweb Apps is a new piece of software which enables you to design a very simple iPhone app with no programming knowledge whatsoever. From the look of it, the possibilities for home made Apps are extremely limited and I would say definitely not worth the $200 – $400 set up fee plus the $25 p/month hosting cost, but, it exciting to see (as someone who’s programming is not advanced enough to code for the iPhone) a piece of software like this.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s been expecting this type of software, so could this open the flood gates to more advanced stuff? Who knows…

Check out the video below to see more about Sweb Apps.

First ever Welsh language handset and iPhone app

August 5th, 2009

_46153192_welshphone226paHaving grown up in Wales, it gave me a warm feeling inside to hear about the first ever Welsh language handset, the new Samsung S5600. (embarrassingly) Not being a Welsh speaker myself, I’ll also be downloading the first Welsh iPhone app, the “Learn Welsh” phrasebook which will be available from the app store in a months time.

Iechyd da (I didn’t need a phrasebook for that one)!
