However, I’ve also been interested to see how they’re going to develop as a music platform in an industry that clearly needs something to give people the kick up the ass they need to start buying music.

Today they’ve answered part of that question by announcing that they are to open its doors to developers (available only for Linux at the moment).

As long as I keep getting all the free music I want for now, I’ll be happy to cough up for premium membership when the iPhone app is launched :)
